We are looking for an all round watersports instructor to join our small team in the British Virgin Islands, starting Nov 2010.

Qualifications required include Windsurf Level 1 instructor, and ability to teach surfing.

Duties will include mostly beginner instruction in above watersports but also guiding kayak tours, snorkel tours, maintenance of equipment and assisting with rental deliveries. Divemaster qualification a bonus but not necessary.

We are looking for a highly motivated and hard working individual who works well on their own initiative.

Based at the Surfing Australia head office in Coolangatta, this role is vital the overall success of the Surfing Australia business structure. Information for this position is as follows:

This is an exciting opportunity available an enthusiastic, organised and intelligent person wanting to join a high profile national sporting organisation. This position will include all areas of office management and personal assistant duties for the CEO.

This support role is vital the ongoing successful delivery of all areas of the organisation, including administration duties, accounting support, education, stakeholder relations, events, and travel arrangements.

Reporting directly tthe CEO, the successful applicant will have outstanding organisational attributes and will have minimum 5 years prior experience in a similar role. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Reception
High level support to CEO 
Meeting, greeting and accommodating visitors
Managing switchboard
Taking clear messages
Answering general enquiries – email and phone
Filing/archiving
Photocopying/scanning
Binding
Proof reading
Updating and compiling new sponsorship proposals
Booking accommodation, flights and travel arrangements
Typing of letters and other duties as requested by CEO
Ensure stationery is kept stocked and re-order as required
Compile comprehensive CEO and Board Meeting packs
Typing Minutes and Agendas
Maintain Database
Processing online shop orders
Management of coach/judge registrations
Maintain clean office environment
  
Insurance - Liaise with State Branches and insurance broker

Mail Duties
Collecting and distributing mail daily
Mailing post daily
Organising couriers when required
Organising large mail-outs when required

Accounting Duties
Data entry into MYOB – including daily operational expenditure and raising debtor invoices
Complete Weekly Bank Reconciliations
Maintain Petty Cash Float
Weekly Banking

 
Essential Skills:

Education Minimum qualification is Certificate 4 in a relevant field of study

Computer Skills Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and MYOB

Customer Relations Excellent interpersonal skills
Confident
Friendly phone manner
Well presented
 
Organisational Skills  

Outstanding planning and prioritising skills
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task
Time management
Ability to work to tight deadlines
 
Communication Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills required

Salary will be in the range of $40-$50k + Super dependant on skills and experience.

SurferToday.com | Surfing News Center It was an intense fourth day of competition at the Panama ISA World Masters Surfing Championship with only repercharge rounds taking place today, again in pretty big waves that reached the 8 to 10 foot faces mark. There were 99 surfers at the beginning of the day, 70 remains now out of the 107 that initiated last Sunday. South Africa, Australia, Peru and Brazil are leading the ratings, with all their surfers still in contention for the title.

Louis Tapper sets the longest kitesurfing journey in Brazil
