Kelly Slater has taken out the 2022 Billabong Pro Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.

The 11-time surfing world champion beat Seth Moniz in the final held in exciting eight-to-twelve-foot waves at Banzai Pipeline.

Slater, 49, claimed his 56th Championship Tour (CT) event of his career exactly 30 years after winning his first elite contest.

The greatest competitive surfer of all time also conquered the eighth CT contest at the sport's ultimate arena and got emotional.

Slater said this was "the best win of my life."

"Seth and I had a moment before the heat, and I needed to go out and have a heat out there. And he said: 'Push me, let's do this.' And I said, 'let's go,'" Slater revealed.

"I know he was a man for the job - he's the next bull. There is no one to underestimate here. I didn't think I was against Seth."

"I thought I was against 20 points because that's what I know he could do out there, and so I was just trying to find my own little space and go for it. I don't know how many more of these are going to happen."

"This honestly might be it. I might not show up at Sunset [Beach]. I'm not sure yet. I've not yet had that little talk to myself. I turn 50 in six days."

On his way to a historical victory at Pipeline, Kelly Slater locked in a 9.00 and 9.77 for two miraculous Backdoor barrels.

Wong Writes History

Moana Jones Wong defeated her fellow Hawaiian opponent and five-time world champion Carissa Moore in the women's competition.

The first-ever full women's Pipeline contest saw the 22-year-old local talent challenging the classic barreling waves at a CT level.

Wong is the first wildcard to win an elite event since Tyler Wright won Sunset Beach in 2010.

"I can't believe it. This is the best moment of my life. I'm just losing it right now. I'm so baffled. I never thought I was ever going to accomplish this, expressed newly crowned Pipeline master.
